Through our healthcare centers, pharmacies, health plan, research, and other activities, AHF provides access to the latest HIV treatments for all who need them.

The AIDS healthcare Foundation (AHF) Zambia invites applications from suitably qualified    persons to fill the following positions.

1.      Nurse-in-Charge (1)

The Nurse-in-Charge is the clinical, operational, and quality lead for AHF-supported sites, responsible for delivering high-quality, digitally enabled, client-centered HIV, STI, SRH, and primary care services. This role ensures effective team leadership, optimal use of digital health platforms, data-driven decision-making, AI-supported clinical care, and adherence to national guidelines and AHF global standards.

The Nurse-in-Charge leads service delivery transformation in alignment with emerging global health trends, including differentiated models of care, telemedicine, integrated youth-friendly wellness services, and the HIV/AIDS goals. 

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be required to.

  • Lead provision of compassionate, stigma-free, patient-centered HIV, STI, SRH, and primary care services using evidence-based protocols.
  • Integrate digital health solutions (SmartCare+, electronic triage tools, digital appointment systems).
  • Utilize AI-supported platforms for clinical alerts, adherence risk prediction, and treatment failure detection.
  • Supervises and mentors Nurses, Dispensers, Linkage Officers, Counselors, HIV Medics, and ART Aides to ensure excellence in clinical care.
  • Lead differentiated service delivery (DSD) models: fast-track, community ART, MMD, injectable ART readiness, youth-friendly services.
  • Conduct advanced clinical triage and coordinates emergency response and outbreak management (HIV, TB, STIs, AMR, respiratory illnesses).
  • Ensure high-quality case management, documentation, and electronic records.
  • Promote integrated care models—linking HIV, TB, NCDs, SRH, and mental health.
  • Advance high standards of infection prevention and control (IPC), waste management, and clinic safety.
  • Conduct clinical audits and monthly CME sessions to maintain a high-performing clinical team.
  • Provide strategic leadership in planning, budgeting, forecasting, staffing, and resource management for the facility.
  • Oversee human resource management: coaching, deployment, performance reviews, and progressive discipline.
  • Implement performance dashboards, digital scorecards, and weekly monitoring of site KPIs.
  • Ensure adherence to AHF financial policies, ethical standards, and organizational integrity.
  • Ensure timely requisitioning, security, and maintenance of drugs, commodities, clinical equipment, and digital tools.
  • Oversee digital stock management (eLMIS, automated supply tracking) and ensure zero stock-outs.
  • Coordinate facility operations including workflow design, client experience optimization, extended hours management, and youth-friendly services.
  • Represent the site in district and partner engagement meetings, TWGs, and community collaborations.
  • Lead rapid problem-solving, quality improvement cycles (PDSA), and facility-level innovation initiatives.
  • Drive data utilization: weekly data reviews, monthly performance meetings, and corrective action planning.
  • Oversee licensing compliance for all nursing staff and maintains professional quality standards.
  • Leads Quality Improvement (QI) activities aligned to AHF’s global quality standards.
  • Ensures youth-friendly, gender-sensitive, and key-population-responsive services.
  • Promotes a culture of empathy, respect, and confidentiality.
  • Conduct routine client experience surveys, exit interviews, and service redesign based on feedback.
  • Ensures efficiency in triage, wait times, patient flow, and appointment systems

Qualifications

  • Must have a Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Must have a Diploma in Nursing (Registered Nurse)
  • Must be a Certified HIV Nurse Practitioner
  • Diploma/Certificate in Midwifery is an added advantage
  • Degree in Nursing or Public Health will be an added advantage.
  • Must be Registered and in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ)
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in HIV treatment & care, primary care, STI/SRH services and chronic disease management.
  • Experience in digital health systems, leadership roles, or quality improvement is an added advantage. 

2.      Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator

The role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, complete, and actionable program data to support clinical care, program performance, strategic decision-making, and donor reporting.

The M&E Coordinator oversees data systems, reporting cycles, data quality improvement, and capacity building for facility-based data teams, while ensuring effective utilization of SmartCare Plus (EMR), AHF MIS, and complementary digital health platforms. The role also supports surveys, operational research, and rapid data requests in alignment with AHF and Ministry of Health (MOH) requirements.

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be required to; 

  • Provide regional oversight for routine data collection, verification, consolidation, and reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
  • Coordinate submission and validation of reports through the AHF MIS Portal in line with reporting deadlines.
  • Consolidate and monitor HIV testing, index testing, treatment, viral load, and prevention indicators across supported facilities.
  • Ensure data readiness for program reviews, donor reports, management meetings, and presentations.
  • Support surveys, time-in-motion studies, census audits, and operational research activities as assigned.
  • Maintain secure data storage, structured backups, and version control across facilities.
  • Lead implementation of routine Data Quality Assurance (DQA) processes, including validation checks, reconciliations, and corrective action tracking.
  • Design, adapt, and deploy data quality tools to address gaps in accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Coordinate data triangulation between SmartCare, registers, reports, and dashboards to validate key indicators (Tx_CURR, new positives, transfers, viral load outcomes).
  • Supervise and coordinate census audit exercises to ensure completeness and integrity of client-level data.
  • Ensure adherence to standardized data collection, entry, storage, and reporting protocols across facilities.
  • Monitor compliance with data protection, confidentiality, and ethical standards, especially for HIV-related data.
  • Utilize SmartCare Plus (EMR) and AHF MIS to generate routine and ad-hoc data queries for program monitoring.
  • Monitor EMR system functionality, server performance, and data synchronization in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Support translation of raw data into analytical outputs, dashboards, trends, and performance insights to inform program action.
  • Oversee data backup systems, including secure storage devices and facility-level backup compliance.
  • Maintain an inventory of data infrastructure assets (servers, external drives, flash disks).
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and supervision to data clerks and facility M&E staff in the region.
  • Conduct training and on-the-job coaching on data quality improvement, EMR use, reporting tools, and analytics.
  • Lead performance reviews and contribute to capacity development plans for data clerks under supervision.
  • Collaborate with MOH, implementing partners, and internal program teams to strengthen regional M&E capacity
  • Respond to urgent and ad-hoc data requests from the Country Office, Bureau Office, and partners.
  • Support program performance monitoring, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Participate in cross-departmental planning, reviews, and learning forums to promote data use for action.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Demography, Development Studies, Public Health, Statistics, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in health data management, reporting, data analysis, and M&E systems.

3.      Prevention Programs Coordinator (1)

The Prevention Program Coordinator provides strategic leadership and oversight for HIV prevention activities across the Region. This role ensures that all interventions are implemented in line with approved plans, schedules, and budgets, while maintaining compliance with Ministry of Health and AHF guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent will be required to
  • Coordinate all prevention activities in the province to ensure they are implemented according to approved plans and schedules.
  • Spear head routine Programme monthly, quarterly on and annual planning for the province
  • Ensure that all prevention program operational needs are adequately facilitated to minimize hitches in activities implementation.
  • Conduct routine support supervision, coaching and mentorship to ensure HIV testing is done according to Ministry Of Health and AHF guidelines.
  • Support health facilities and partners to effectively implement activities in line with approved work plans/ budgets.
  • Ensure External Quality Control (EQA) and Internal Quality Control systems are in place according to Ministry of Health guidelines.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and periodic evaluations on the counseling and testing procedures that are being implemented in the field by AHF and partners.
  • Identifying areas of concern and challenges and taking necessary corrective action.
  • Participate in identification, selection, and deployment of competent and qualified volunteers/counselors. He/She will also play an oversight role in their administration in the province
  • Represent AHF Zambia in key prevention program related coordination and advocacy meetings with stakeholders/local authorities and providing feedback/updates on all latest developments pertaining to HIV Counselling testing in the province
  • Provide logistical support to all participating health facilities and partners to ensure key program logistics are readily available and accounted for in line with Ministry of Health and AHF accounting procedures
  • Ensure all advanced funds are managed and accounted for in accordance with AHF procedures.
  • Routine performance review, monitoring and ensuring accurate program reports are compiled and submitted in time to AHF and the provincial administration.

Qualifications:

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Counseling, Development Studies, Community Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in program planning, coordination, and performance monitoring within HIV prevention or public health programs.
  • Where applicable, registration with the relevant national professional regulatory body.
  • Membership with the Zambia Counselling Council is an added advantage.
  • Certified training in HIV Counselling and Testing is an added advantage.
  • Certification in Finger-Prick Testing is an added advantage.

4.      Procurement Officer

the Procurement Officer is responsible for coordinating and executing efficient, compliant, and value-for-money procurement and logistics services in support of AHF Zambia programs. The role ensures end-to-end procurement cycle management through the SMART ERP system, promotes transparency and accountability, strengthens supplier relationships, and supports a responsive, technology-enabled supply chain aligned with AHF policies, donor requirements, and Zambian regulatory frameworks.   

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be required to.

  • Coordinate and centralize the program supply chain by establishing effective order management and tracking systems at site and country office levels using SMART ERP.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with AHF procurement policies, donor regulations, and Zambian public procurement and statutory requirements, under guidance of the Operations Manager.
  • Process procurement requests based on approved budgets and authorized requisitions, ensuring full compliance throughout the procurement cycle.
  • Participate in annual and quarterly procurement planning with departments to support uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Prepare, issue, and manage RFQs, RFPs, and bidding documents, ensuring competitive and transparent supplier selection.
  • Support solicitation, evaluation, and comparative analysis of quotations and bids, and prepare procurement summaries for review by the Procurement Committee.
  • Generate Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) through SMART ERP, distribute to suppliers, and communicate procurement decisions to originating departments.
  • Maintain professional and ethical relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Respond to supplier inquiries regarding order status, changes, and cancellations.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules, expedite delayed orders, and resolve supply shortages or discrepancies.
  • Monitor supplier and contractor performance and recommend corrective actions or contract modifications where required
  • Verify deliveries to ensure goods received meet specifications, quantities, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory, asset, and low-value registers within SMART ERP.
  • Track inventory movement and complete inventory transfer documentation for accounting and audit purposes.
  • Support fixed asset management at head office and supported health facilities, including periodic asset verification and condition reporting.
  • Provide regular updates to the Procurement Committee on asset status and lifecycle management.
  • Calculate order costs and support invoice verification prior to submission to Finance.
  • Reconcile supplier invoices against purchase orders, quotations, and delivery notes.
  • Support preparation of semi-annual and annual procurement and fixed asset reports in collaboration with Finance.
  • Maintain complete, well-organized procurement records (electronic and physical) to meet audit and accountability standards.
  • Ensure procurement documentation is securely stored and easily retrievable.
  • Actively support the effective utilization and continuous improvement of the SMART ERP procurement and inventory modules.
  • Monitor adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within procurement and logistics functions.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating procurement committee meetings and other related internal or external engagements.
  • Promote forward-looking procurement practices, including digital tracking, supplier performance analytics, sustainability considerations, and risk mitigation.
  • Contribute to strengthening procurement governance, transparency, and efficiency across AHF Zambia operations

Qualifications

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in procurement and logistics.
  • Prior experience working with international NGOs or donor-funded programs is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience using ERP-based procurement systems (SMART ERP or similar).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and digital procurement tools.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; local language proficiency is an advantage.
  • Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing & Supply (ZIPS).
