The Role
As our Multimedia Designer, you will be the creative force behind the BongoHive Group’s brand. Your mission is to elevate our profile and impact through compelling visual storytelling. You will produce high-value marketing, communications, and PR collateral that resonates both locally and internationally, directly contributing to the growth of new partnerships and business opportunities. Working with a small, dynamic communications team, you will collaborate across our Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Technology, and Coworking departments to bring our stories to life.

Key Responsibilities

Visual Content Creation

• Develop a wide range of visual solutions for any given brief, using typography, photography, graphic elements, infographics, animations, and video.
• Tell compelling stories through the entire video production lifecycle: shooting, editing, and producing high-quality video content.
• Create engaging motion graphics and special effects to elevate our digital presence.
• Perform expert photo and video editing to ensure all content meets our brand standards.

Project Management & Collaboration

• Partner with internal teams and stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and creative direction from concept to completion.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables effectively, ensuring high-quality work is delivered on schedule.
• Incorporate feedback from stakeholders while guiding the overall narrative to ensure clarity and impact.
• Handle all design-related logistics, including managing print production and coordinating with external vendors.

Strategy & Research

• Continuously research and stay ahead of the latest visual and storytelling trends to keep our brand fresh and innovative.
• Contribute creative ideas to marketing campaigns and communication strategies.
• Proactively identify new opportunities to enhance our brand’s visual identity across all platforms.

Qualifications & Experience

• A diploma or degree in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in a multimedia design role.
• A strong portfolio is required. Please provide a link to your portfolio showcasing a diverse range of work, including graphic design, video production, and animation.

Skills & Competencies

• Technical Expertise: Expert proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects). Experience with Figma or other UI/UX tools is a plus.
• Visual Storytelling: A natural ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging, and emotionally resonant visuals.
• Project Management: Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Communication: Strong verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to present and defend creative concepts.
• Collaborative Spirit: A proactive team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
• Attention to Detail: An exceptional eye for detail, quality, and accuracy.

Work Environment

• This role requires the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• The position is based in Lusaka, but occasional travel for off-site appointments and events (including some out-of-hours work) is expected.
