Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Sealing Solutions Specialist

Department: Engineering / Technical Sales

Job Purpose:

To analyze sealing requirements for various industrial equipment, recommend appropriate seal types, coordinate procurement and supply, and provide technical support and after-sales service to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Analysis

Analyze mechanical equipment and systems to determine appropriate sealing solutions.

Identify suitable seal types based on operating conditions such as pressure, temperature, speed, and chemical compatibility.

Review engineering drawings and specifications to determine seal requirements.

Product Selection

Recommend and specify seals such as mechanical seals, O-rings, gaskets, lip seals, hydraulic seals, and packing.

Ensure seal materials are compatible with industry standards and operating environments.

Industry Applications

Provide sealing solutions for industries such as:

Mining

Manufacturing

Power generation

Oil and gas

Water treatment

Food processing

Agriculture

Procurement and Order Management

Prepare technical specifications and place orders with suppliers.

Monitor procurement processes to ensure timely delivery.

Maintain inventory records of sealing products.

Delivery and Installation Support

Coordinate delivery of sealing components to clients.

Provide guidance on installation and maintenance procedures.

Assist in troubleshooting seal failures and equipment issues.

After-Sales Service

Conduct site visits for inspection and maintenance support.

Provide technical advice to clients on seal performance and maintenance.

Handle warranty claims and product replacement when necessary.

Customer Support and Technical Sales

Communicate with clients to understand their sealing requirements.

Prepare technical proposals and quotations.

Provide product training to customers when required.

Documentation and Reporting

Prepare technical reports, service reports, and product recommendations.

Maintain records of equipment serviced and seals supplied.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Knowledge of industrial sealing systems and rotating equipment.

Experience in maintenance, reliability engineering, or industrial supply is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies
