Our client, an energy and infrastructure development company operating in Zambia is seeking talented professionals to join their high-performing team developing a large scale power generation project in Southern Province.
Role Purpose
The Finance Manager will lead the company’s financial function, providing oversight of financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, statutory compliance, and financial reporting. The role supports executive management and the Board through high‑quality financial analysis, governance, and risk management, ensuring sustainable financial performance and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long‑term financial planning processes.
- Manage rolling cash flow forecasts and ensure adequate liquidity for operations and projects.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
- Prepare accurate and timely management accounts and financial reports in line with IFRS.
- Ensure compliance with all Zambian statutory requirements, including VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Corporate Income Tax, NAPSA, and NHIMA.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Prepare Board financial packs and statutory financial statements.
- Identify financial and operational risks and implement effective mitigation measures.
- Oversee fraud prevention, asset protection, and compliance monitoring.
- Manage cash inflows and outflows, banking relationships, and investment of surplus funds.
- Support project finance activities, including EPC cost tracking, contractor payments, and logistics cost analysis.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to achieve high performance and accountability.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Member of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
- Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA is required.
- Additional training or certification in IFRS or financial reporting will be an advantage.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum 10–12 years’ experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a senior or managerial role.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, taxation, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to manage multi‑entity accounts and consolidations.
- Proficiency in financial systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in the energy, infrastructure, or project‑based sectors will be a strong advantage.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and strong leadership and communication skills.
