Education & Health Liaison Officer
AvailableLubambe Copper Mine Limited (LCML) owns and operates the Lubambe underground Copper Mine located in Chililabombwe District of the Copperbelt Province in Zambia. The Mine which commenced operations in 2012 is situated approximately 468 kilometres North of the Capital City of Lusaka, 152 Kilometres from Ndola and approximately 40 Kilometres from Chingola.
Lubambe Copper Mine sits on an area of approximately 58.1 square kilometres and comprises an existing underground mine, characterised by two distinct limbs (the East and South Limbs) and a processing Plant with a capacity to process up to 2.4 million tonnes per annum.
LCML places the highest priority on safety with a world-class safety system in place and understands its obligations to carry out mining in a sustainable manner. Its Corporate Social Responsibility programme focuses on education, agriculture, health, and infrastructure.

LCML seeks to employ an experienced and qualified individual in the following position:
EDUCATION AND HEALTH LIAISON OFFICER (X1)
This position reports to the CSR Manager.
Core Purpose of the Position:
Coordinate activities and programs in the Health and Education Sectors.
Key Performance Areas/Indicators (KPA/Is):
- Manage the scholarship program by leading the selection process and the welfare of the students sponsored by LCML.
- Lead the recruitment process of the unskilled labour and ensure that the monthly payment for the community employees is made on time.
- Sensitise the communities on various health and education issues using communication leaflets (IEC Materials), workshops and meetings.
- Monitor progress on infrastructure projects under education and health.
- Prepare weekly activity and monthly reports.
- Maintain and update the database for the community workers and scholars under the LCML scholarship program.
- Collaborate with relevant organisations and government departments for effective program implementation and to strengthen the capacity of the existing Health and Education systems.
- Maintain good rapport with the community through regular contacts and communication.
Academic Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
- Degree in Social Work/Development Studies from a reputable institution.
- Self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively with co-workers.
- Passion for the health and education sectors.
- Minimum of five (5) years working experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate in Bemba.
- Mental ability to operate in a sometimes hostile and challenging environment.
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to work with own initiative.
