JOB DESCRIPTION – WELDER
Position: Welder
Department: Operations / Engineering
Reports To: Site Foreman / Project Supervisor
Job Summary
The Welder is responsible for, assembling, repairing, and installing metal structures and equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, safety standards, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ARC, MIG, TIG, and gas welding as required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Cut, shape, and join metal components using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Repair damaged metal structures and machinery.
- Inspect welded joints to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Craft Certificate in Welding/Fabrication or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4–5 years' relevant work experience.
- Valid welding certification is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong welding and skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Good attention to detail.

JOB DESCRIPTION – RIGGER
Position: Rigger
Department: Operations / Engineering
Reports To: Site Foreman / Lifting Supervisor / Project Supervisor
Job Summary
The Rigger is responsible for planning, preparing, securing, and directing the safe lifting, movement, and positioning of heavy equipment, machinery, and construction materials using cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment. The Rigger ensures that all lifting operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect lifting gear, slings, shackles, hooks, chains, and other rigging equipment before use.
- Select the appropriate lifting equipment for each lifting operation.
- Attach and secure loads safely for lifting and transportation.
- Direct crane operators using standard hand signals or radio communication.
- Ensure loads are balanced, stable, and properly secured before lifting.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and positioning heavy materials and equipment.
- Maintain lifting equipment and report any defects immediately.
- Ensure all lifting activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Certificate or Trade Qualification in Rigging or Lifting Operations.
- Minimum of 4–5 years' relevant experience in construction, engineering, or industrial projects.
- Valid Rigger Certification is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of rigging and lifting techniques.
- Ability to interpret lifting plans and load charts.
- Good communication and signalling skills.
- Excellent understanding of workplace health and safety.
- Ability to work at heights and in demanding environments.
- Physically fit and capable of handling heavy lifting equipment.
