The LUSAKA APEX MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (LAMU) is a privately owned University, accredited by the Higher Education Authority under the Higher Education Amendment Act No. 23 of 2021 to provide Higher Education in Medical Education. LAMU is regulated by the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ), Nursing & Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ), Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA). Lusaka Apex Medical University is therefore looking for mature, proactive, highly motivated and result oriented Zambians with high degree of credibility to fill the following positions.

1.     Chief Librarian

Qualifications and Experience

·        Full Grade 12 school certificate or its equivalent

·        Bachelor’s degree in library and information science

·        Master’s in library and information studies or any other related field from a reputable university.

·        A PhD will be an added advantage.

·        At least Eight (8) years’ experience, with three (3) years at Senior Management level in a recognized institution.

·        All academic qualifications and results must be Validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

·        Must be a member of LIAZ

Qualities & Skills

• Strong IT skills and with the use of databases and the internet (library management system-KOHA)
• Team working and management skills
• Assessment of resources and library users’ needs
• High level of planning and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Passionate to conduct research
• Should be able to work under minimum supervision and able to multitask

2. Mathematics Lecturer and Tutor

Qualification and experience

·        Grade 12 Certificate with five credits including English, Mathematics, and Science

·        Bachelor of Arts in Education with mathematics Major

·        Master’s degree in mathematics from a registered/accredited University

·        PhD in the field is an added advantage

·        All academic qualifications must be validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

·        Certificate or Diploma in teaching Methodology

·        Teaching/research experience of not less than 3 years in a reputable institution.

·        Competent in English communication both spoken and written.

·        Computer literate – Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

3. Physics Tutor

Qualification and Experience

·        Grade 12 Certificate with five credits including English, Mathematics, and Science

• Bachelor of science in Physics or a related field.

·        Certificate or Diploma in teaching methodology

·        All academic qualifications must be validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

·        Two (2) years teaching experience at a university.

4.    Lecturer – Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy and Tutor

Qualifications and Experience:

·        Grade 12 Certificate with five credits including English, Mathematics, and Science

·        Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, Phytochemistry or a related field

·        Master’s degree in Pharmacognosy or a related field

·        PhD in the same field is an added advantage

·        All academic qualifications must be validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

·        Certificate or Diploma in teaching Methodology.

·        Teaching/research experience of not less than 3 years in a reputable institution.

·        At least 1 publication in reputed journal

5.    Assistant Stores Officer

Qualifications and Experience

·        Grade 12 Certificate with five credits including English, Mathematics, and Science

·        Diploma in Purchasing and supply Management or a related field

·        Membership and valid practicing licence (ZIPS)

·        Two (2) years’ work experience in a reputable organisation

·        All academic qualifications and results must be Validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

·        Strong knowledge of SAGE system
