Our Client, a reputable private company operating in Zambia is inviting qualified and experienced 30‑ton manual truckand trailer long distance drivers to join its growing logistics and transport operations. The role involves local and cross-border transportation of materials, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely delivery while complying with company procedures and regional transport regulations.

JOB PURPOSE

To safely operate company heavy-duty manual trucks on assigned local and international routes, transporting materials and cargo efficiently while maintaining high standards of road safety, professionalism, and vehicle care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Safely operate 30‑ton manual trucks (Sinotruk, Howo, or other Chinese makes) on assigned routes

·      Transport site materials and cargo to designated locations

·      Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report mechanical issues promptly

·      Perform basic routine maintenance (minor mechanical checks will be an added advantage)

·      Assist with loading and offloading of materials where required

·      Plan efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries and reduce fuel consumption

·      Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance activities

·      Handle and submit Proof of Delivery (PODs) and trip documentation correctly

·      Maintain constant communication with the Fleet Supervisor

·      Ensure cleanliness, safety, and security of the assigned truck at all times

·      Adhere strictly to Zambian traffic laws, border regulations, and company policies

·      Provide professional customer service and uphold confidentiality and integrity

·      Carry out any other duties assigned by management in line with the role

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

·      Minimum Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent

·      Valid class C, CE or D ,PSV License, not less than 5 years old

·      Minimum 3 years proven experience driving heavy-duty trucks

·      At least 2 years’ experience in cross-border / international trips

·      Certificate in Defensive Driving

·      Dangerous Goods Certificate (BELSAM, ENEC or ITC)

·      Mechanical Experience (added Advantage)

·      Strong knowledge of road safety, defensive driving, and vehicle maintenance

·      Ability to read, write, and complete transport documentation

·      Excellent time management, reliability, and professionalism

·      Good communication and interpersonal skills

MANDATORY DOCUMENTS TO BE SHARED
