We are looking for hungry, self-driven interns to join our engineering team and help build the next generation of Zambian tech.

Job Overview

As a Software Engineering Intern at Cyber Express, you will not be a spectator. You will work directly under our Lead Architect to develop, test, and deploy features across multiple live systems. This role is designed for individuals who want to master the Laravel framework and understand the complexities of iOS/Android integration, including specialized support for legacy environments.

Key Responsibilities

• System Development: Build and maintain web-based Management Information Systems (MIS) using Laravel.
• Mobile Integration: Assist in developing mobile app features (Swift/iOS) and connecting them to centralized back-ends.
• API Construction: Design and implement RESTful APIs to ensure seamless communication between web and mobile platforms.
• Database Management: Optimize and manage MySQL/PostgreSQL databases using Laravel Eloquent.
• Legacy Optimization: Work on specialized tasks to ensure application compatibility with older operating systems (e.g., iOS 12).
• Technical Documentation: Create clear documentation for system architectures and user workflows.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Recent graduate or final-year student in Computer Science, ICT, or a related engineering field.
• Core Tech: Strong foundational knowledge of PHP (Laravel) and JavaScript.
• Mobile Interest: Demonstrable interest in Mobile App development (Swift, SwiftUI, or Flutter).
• Tools: with Git (GitHub/GitLab) and basic command-line operations.
• Mindset: A "Full-Stack" mentality—the ability to look at both the front-end user experience and back-end logic.
• Self-Starter: Ability to research solutions independently and meet deadlines in a remote-first environment.
