Job Purpose
Ensure quality control requirements are met by timeous analytical method of analysis on production blends against a set specification. QC approval or rejection of blends / verification of traded material against supplier specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Product Quality and Risk Prevention
- Daily Reactive ground testing (ISO thermal and temperature ramping tests)
- Analyses of incoming Tanker delivery’s (Physical QC Analysis)
- Conduct routine QAQC tests on emulsion and EGA delivery’s
- Sampling of reactive ground for analysis throughout to pit area. (waste and ore bodies)
- Prevention of non-conforming product from being dispatched to customer.
2. Test sample reliability
• Daily Calibration of laboratory instruments
• Maintenance of external calibrations of lab equipment
• Preparation and Standardization of reagents for reactive ground testing.Â
• Acidic soil Value analyses, including XRF mineralisation vale testingÂ
• Packing / storing / maintaining of test samples
3. Laboratory Compliance and HSE operating/work requirements
• Review and updating of Laboratory Work Instructions
• Ensure all SHEQ requirements are adhered to (Waste Management / Proper storage of chemicals (compatibility) / Safety)
• Verification of manufacturing and expiry date on batch sticker to information ensure consistency between batch sticker and COA
4. Administration and Reporting
• Ensure that all test reports are sent out timeouslyÂ
• Communicate to all relevant stake holders regarding sample results.Â
• Processing of requisitions on D365 for reagents and consumables
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Diploma in structural geology, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
- Degree in any of the above fields will be an added advantage.
• 3 years ‘experience in mining and blasting environment.
