About the Company
Agora Microfinance Zambia (AMZ) is a rural microfinance company that operates under a non-deposit microfinance license from the Bank of Zambia. Currently, the Company works with some 140,000 clients in all provinces of Zambia through 40 branches and a staff of 500. The Company aims to expand and strengthen its operations with a long-term goal of further national reach, strong financial and social performance, and overall contribution to the Zambian economy and society.
Job Overview
The Marketing, Branding, and Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Agora Microfinance Zambia’s marketing, branding, and corporate communications strategy. The role supports the institution’s goals of strengthening brand visibility, enhancing customer engagement, and promoting AMZ’s financial products and services across both digital and traditional marketing channels.
This will involve, amongst others, the following activities,
Strategic Planning & Leadership: Develop and execute AMZ’s annual marketing, branding, and communication strategy, conduct market research, customer profiling, and competitor analysis to support product positioning, ensure brand consistency across all digital platforms, print materials, branch touchpoints, and public communications, prepare and manage the marketing budget, and oversee vendor relationships.
Digital Marketing: Develop and manage AMZ’s digital marketing strategy, including social media, website content, online advertising, and email campaigns, and produce and publish engaging content reflecting AMZ’s brand tone and values, track digital analytics (Google Analytics, Meta Insights, etc.), and optimise performance campaigns, drive digital financial literacy and product awareness through online platforms, ensure the website and digital channels provide a consistent and user-friendly brand experience.
Traditional Marketing: Plan and deliver traditional marketing initiatives such as radio campaigns, community activations, print advertising, and outdoor media, manage production of marketing collateral including brochures, posters, signage, and branded materials, support network-wide brand enhancement, ensuring branches maintain approved branding standards, coordinate community outreach, financial literacy programs, and brand activations.
Branding & Corporate Communications: Lead AMZ’s branding efforts, ensuring alignment with corporate identity guidelines and strategic direction, oversee development of brand assets, messaging frameworks, and communications standards, draft and manage corporate communications including press releases, speeches, statements, annual report content, and internal communications, strengthen AMZ’s public image by maintaining relationships with media houses and key external stakeholders, ensure consistent and professional communication across all internal and external channels. support crisis communication planning and manage communication risks proactively, provide communications guidance to management and branch teams.
Product Marketing & Customer Engagement: Collaborate with Operations and Product Teams to develop product-focused marketing materials, design and implement customer education initiatives to support product uptake and better understanding, develop customer experience messaging, and retention-focused campaigns, conduct surveys or feedback loops to guide marketing strategies and improve customer value propositions.
Reporting & Performance Management: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual marketing performance reports, track the effectiveness of marketing efforts, and recommend improvements or new initiatives; maintain a database of marketing activities, results, vendor contacts, and brand assets.
The position is permanent and pensionable.
Requirements
1)      Master’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field.
2)Â Â Â Â Â Â Professional qualifications (CIM, Digital Marketing, PR certifications) are an added advantage.
3)      Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing, with at least 2 years in a senior or managerial role.
4)Â Â Â Â Â Â Demonstrated experience in branding, corporate communications, digital marketing, and traditional marketing.
5)Â Â Â Â Â Â Experience in the financial services, microfinance, or banking sector is a strong advantage.
6)Â Â Â Â Â Â Proven ability to manage agencies, creative teams, and corporate communication processes.
7)Â Â Â Â Â Â Significant levels of energy, ambition, and enthusiasm
8)Â Â Â Â Â Â Strong, self-motivated leadership and supervision skills
9)Â Â Â Â Â Â Excellent analytical skills as well as the ability to design efficient processes/procedures
10)Â Â Â Excellent communication skills
Key Competences
1. Digital Marketing Skills: Social media strategy and management, SEO/SEM and digital analytics, web content management, email and CRM marketing, digital advertising and performance optimisation
2.Traditional Marketing Skills: Media planning (radio, print, outdoor), event management, activations, and community-based marketing, market segmentation and customer insights, production of print materials, and merchandising
3. Branding & Corporate Communications Competencies: Brand development and identity management, corporate writing (press releases, reports, speeches, website copy), internal communication planning, media relations and PR management, crisis communications handling, ability to translate complex financial information into clear, accessible messaging

Major Responsibilities
As this is a new function being established, the main initial responsibilities will involve the setting up of the department, the development of policy and frameworks, and an understanding of the business operations.
