The University is currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified individual for the position of IT Assistant:

Job Purpose

 This role ensures smooth IT operations, assists in maintaining system security and performance, and helps align IT services with business needs while providing technical support to staff and assisting with IT-related tasks, vendor coordination, and documentation.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of IT systems, networks, cloud infrastructure, and virtualization environments.
• Support the implementation of IT policies, security measures, and backup/disaster recovery procedures.
• Help ensure data security, system performance, and compliance with organizational guidelines.
• Provide technical support to staff and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and software.
• Maintain inventory of IT assets and assist with procurement processes.
• Collaborate with IT staff and other departments to support smooth IT operations.
• Document IT procedures, issues, and resolutions to support knowledge sharing and continuity.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 full certificate
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any related field

Experience

• Experience with Quickbooks setup & configurations.
• Two years related experience
