JOB PURPOSE

To serves as an assistant to the HSEQ Manager to co-ordinate, support and advise the Business on all aspects with regards to Health and Safety. To establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training, and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety within Juba Transport are adhered to.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Undertakes and directs complex and diverse audits, investigations and inspections within the organisation and supports externally contracted providers to ensure compliance with the applicable regulations, processes and controls.

·        Actively engages and supports the Executive and business Leaders, acting as focal point, enabling compliance with statutory HSEQ obligations and adherence.

·        corporate and operational support for HSQ functions including training, advice, guidance and leadership support.

·        To effect safe work systems and continuous improvement across the organisation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

·        The role requires a comprehensive knowledge and understanding in HSEQ Legislation (Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice), ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standards, Risk Management

·        Thorough understanding of transport business and management, requirements and dynamics is an added advantage.

·        Strong communication and well-developed interpersonal skills.

·        Knowledge and technical skills in risk management acquired from extensive work experience as a qualified specialist; and experience in the development and implementation of HSEQ management systems.

·        At least 3 – 5 previous experiences in a similar role;

·        Significant work experience with audits as an internal auditor or externally as a consultant.

·        Project management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

·        Grade 12 School Certificate

·        Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field

·        Lead Auditor Qualifications is an added advantage

·        Computer literate
