Purpose of the role
The HR Manager reports to the Chief Executive Officer. You own HR operations for Zambia, making sure our people practices support the needs of Unifi Zambia and Unifi as a whole through building strong teams, supporting managers and creating an environment where people can thrive and Unifi grows.Ā This is a hands on HR manager role.
ResponsibilitiesĀ
- Drive, develop and deliver the Zambian HR plan with the country leadership team, aligned to Unifiās needs and priorities
- Provide managers with practical guidance and support on HR matters
- Connect with the wider Unifi HR community to drive initiatives in Zambia, such as performance management, engagement and wellness
- Monitor HR systems and processes across the employee journey and ensure they are consistently followed by your HR team and managers
- Ensure employee records, HR systems and payroll information are accurate and up to date
- Be curious and speak up when something is not working. Look for ways to make HR processes simpler, better and more effectiveĀ
- Ensure HR practices are aligned with local legislation and the Unifi Way
- Manage the performance and growth of the HR team in Zambia, setting clear expectations and maintaining a high standard of delivery
- Support Unifi Way initiatives that strengthen our culture and help attract and keep the right people
- Use HR data to spot trends and risks, understand what needs attention and recommend practical actions to the leadership team
- Be the voice of Zambia HR in business and group discussion
- Provide accurate and relevant HR reporting to support business decisions
- Be the custodian of the Unifi Culture
- Help make Unifi a place where great people want to join, grow and thrive
Requirements
- Bachelorās degree or equivalent qualification.
- Registered with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management
- 5+ yearsā HR management experience, ideally in a environment
- Confident supporting and challenging managers when needed, using sound judgement and a practical approach.
- A clear, direct and respectful communicator.
- Able to build strong relationships, earn trust and work effectively across teams and countries.
- Organised and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of work.
- Resilient, resourceful and hands-on, with a āletās get it doneā attitude.
- Passionate about helping people perform, grow and thrive in their roles.
- Curious and always looking for better ways to improve how we work and the experience of our community members.
- Willing and able to travel across Zambia when needed.
