Environmental, Health and Safety Officer
Kamimbi Aqua Feed invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the Position of Environmental Health and Safety Officer. This role reports to the Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality Manager. The role will be based at the Kamimbi Aqua Feed in Siavonga.
  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement and monitor occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare detailed reports.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all employees.
- Monitor compliance with company safety rules and statutory requirements. Conduct safety inductions and training programs for employees and contractors.
- Organize toolbox talks and safety awareness campaigns.
- Maintain emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills.
- Monitor environmental compliance with local regulations and company standards.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, audits, and training activities.
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs.
- Conduct employee orientation on safety and environmental policies.
- Coordinate fire safety programs and emergency response activities.
- Ensure emergency equipment is inspected and maintained.
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Professional HSE certification is an added advantage.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a health, safety, and environmental role.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and environmental legislation.
Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety auditing.
Must be a registered Member of ZOASH
