DATA ANALYST (1) - LUSAKA

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with SQL, Power Query, and Power BI and will play a critical role in creating insightful reports and dashboards. This position focuses on business analysis and report development to support data-driven decision-making for our business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Report Creation & Visualization: Develop, design, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Data Analysis: Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and insights to support business strategies.
• SQL & Data Queries: Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and transform data from various sources.
• Power Query: Use Power Query to clean, transform, and prepare data for reporting and analysis.
• Business Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into effective data solutions.
• Data Validation: Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing thorough testing and validation.
• Documentation: Document data models, workflows, and reporting processes to support knowledge sharing and future development.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the business teams to ensure seamless data integration and reporting.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write and debug queries - advantageous.
• Experience with Power BI, including report creation, data visualization, and DAX calculations.
• Familiarity with Power Query for data transformation and preparation.
• Strong excel knowledge
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of business analysis concepts, particularly in the financial sector.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

·       Full grade 12 certificate or its equivalent

·       Degree in a relevant Business field

·       2 - 4 years of experience in a similar role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience working in the financial sector.
• Knowledge of data modelling concepts.
• Understanding of relational databases and data flows.
