Job Title: Accountant (Tax & Compliance Specialist)

Job Overview: We are seeking an elite, highly analytical Accountant to become the financial backbone of our operations. We aren't just looking for someone to balance the books; we want a proactive financial guardian with an exceptional, encyclopedic knowledge of Zambian tax laws. The ideal candidate will take absolute ownership of our financial health, ensuring bulletproof compliance, optimizing our tax position, and providing strategic financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tax & Compliance Mastery: Take full charge of all ZRA tax types (VAT, PAYE, Corporate Tax, WHT, NAPSA, NHIMA, etc.), ensuring flawless calculation, filing, and payment. Keep the company ahead of any regulatory changes.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare, maintain, and present impeccably accurate financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Ledger & Reconciliation: Manage complex accounts payable/receivable and conduct meticulous bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Strategic Planning: Assist leadership with deep-dive financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
• Audit Management: Conduct rigorous internal audits and act as the primary liaison for external audit processes, ensuring zero discrepancies.
• Process Optimization: Continuously improve internal financial controls and streamline accounting operations using modern financial software.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Mandatory: Active membership and registration with ZICA.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, with a heavy emphasis on corporate tax management and statutory compliance.
• Proven track record of managing end-to-end financial operations with high autonomy.
