Job Summary:
A dynamic and results-driven Accountant will be responsible for leading the finance team while guiding the institution on all financial matters. The role requires an in-depth understanding of financial management, microfinance accounting principles, and strong analytical skills.
The Accountant will ensure efficient financial operations, compliance with regulatory standards, and the continued growth of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports to management, the board of directors, and regulatory authorities.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, manage, and monitor the institution’s annual budget. Prepare financial forecasts and projections.
• Internal Controls: Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent financial mismanagement.
• Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them,ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
.Team Leadership and Development: Lead, develop, and mentor the finance team, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
• Financial Planning – Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies to optimize business performance and ensure long-term financial stability.
• Accounting – Maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Treasury Management – Oversee cash flow management, monitor liquidity, and manage financial risks to support business operations.
• Tax Planning – Prepare and file tax returns, ensure compliance with tax laws, and develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
• Banking – Manage banking relationships, oversee transactions, and ensure efficient handling of payments, reconciliations, and financial instruments.

Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as or equivalent (preferred).
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, ideally in the microfinance sector.
• Strong knowledge of microfinance accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
